永遠の春 キム・ウォンスク 「今回の展覧会のタイトルを何にすればよいでしょうか」 色々と考えてみて父に尋ねたところ、待ちかねていたかのように 「もしかして『長春真人』という詩人を知っているか？ その『永遠の春』がどうかね」とおっしゃった。 99歳の丘の上からご覧になる私の絵に対する理解と希望が込められたその一言が正解だった。 毎年奇跡のように咲き誇る春。その永遠の生命力、老いて衰えない若さ、美しさの願いを込めた貴重なタイトルだ。 いくつかの異なる物語を収めた今回の展覧さんは、時間や素材に縛られず、私が長年描き続けてきた私の人生の周辺のイメージを集めてみた。 結局は美しさと憐れみという信念で。 こんな面白いことを一日中、毎日できる私は本当に幸せな人間だ。 Eternal Spring -Kim Wonsook “What would be a good title for this show?” I was tossing around several ideas, and I asked my father. He asked, "Do you know the poem, “Eternal Spring” by Jang Chun, the Daoist Chinese poet?" Of course, I didn't know. That phrase, embodying both his understanding of my paintings and his hopes for them, viewed from the hilltop of his ninety-nine years, was the perfect answer. A yearning for the eternal spring that magically surprises us every year with vitality and beauty that never fades with time. This exhibition contains several stories from my life, presented together regardless of time period or medium, all seeking beauty and compassion as their ultimate goal. I get to draw and paint this magical life every day, all day long. I am blessed.
