[PROGRAM] Mozart, Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major, K. 467 Lee Hanurij, new work *world premiere, commissioned by SPO Scriabin, Symphony No. 4 in C Major, Op. 54, 'Le Poème de l'extase' * Program and performers are subject to change. Conductor Soo-Yeol Choi, who formed a relationship as the assistant conductor of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and continues to work with the orchestra to this day, stands on the regular concert stage for the first time in five years since his 2021 performance. South African-born Australian pianist Kristian Bezuidenhout steps up as soloist to deliver Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21. Following the collaboration with a Mozart specialist displaying an outstanding presence in fortepiano performance, conductor Soo-Yeol Choi and the SPO leap across eras toward the 20th and 21st centuries. Performed alongside a new work commissioned by SPO from young 2006-born composer Lee Hanurij is Scriabin's Symphony No. 4 'The Poem of Ecstasy'. Although titled a symphony, in this work close to a symphonic poem, the composer brilliantly expresses the longing for transformation with mystical symphonic sounds.
