Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-08-01
1. What we do not collect
Starting with what we never ask for.
- There is no sign-up, so we do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers or dates of birth.
- There are no login accounts, so we hold no account details identifying a user.
- We take no payments, so we handle no payment information.
- We do not store location data. The map’s ‘my location’ is used inside your browser only and is never transmitted. The analytics tool described in section 4 may, however, estimate an approximate location at country or city level from your IP address.
The analytics tool in section 4 does store a value in a cookie to distinguish browsers, and that value persists in the same browser for a considerable time. It does not tell us who you are, but it does distinguish a return visit. If you would rather it did not, section 4 explains how to block it.
2. What we process
| Item | Purpose | Form | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| A transformed value derived from connection data | To count repeated views by the same person once | A random value is added to the IP address and browser details, and the result is transformed so that it cannot be reversed. The raw IP address is not stored. | Deleted after 30 minutes |
| View counts per event | Producing popularity rankings | Only totals per event and date are kept; who viewed what is not. | Kept as an aggregate |
| Review content | Publishing event reviews | Nickname (optional), rating, body text | While the post is published |
| An author-distinguishing value for reviews | Preventing flooding and handling reports | A random value is added to the IP address and transformed so that it cannot be reversed. The raw IP address is not stored. This value persists across dates. | While the post is published |
The value used for view counting changes with the date. The same visitor produces a different value on a different day, so no one can be tracked over time.
The author-distinguishing value for reviews, by contrast, stays the same across dates. If it changed daily, a block against flooding would lift by itself overnight and reports could not be acted on. This value cannot be turned back into the original IP address either, and it is deleted when the review is deleted.
3. Cookies
There is no login, so the service itself uses no cookies for its own features. Third parties do use cookies for the items below.
- Visit analytics — the tool in section 4 stores a browser-distinguishing value.
You can block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them does not affect browsing, searching or writing reviews.
4. Visit analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which events and areas people look for, so we can improve the service. In doing so, connection data is transmitted to Google.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| What is collected | The address and title of the page visited, the referring source, device and browser type, an approximate location (country or city level), and a browser-distinguishing value |
| How it is collected | Using a random browser-distinguishing value stored in a cookie. No information identifying an individual, such as a name or email address, is transmitted. |
| Data controller | Google LLC (United States) |
| IP address | Google uses it to estimate location and does not store it. Onnuri Madang neither passes on nor receives the raw IP address. |
If you would rather not take part, you can block it as follows.
- Install the opt-out browser add-on provided by Google.
- Block cookies in your browser settings, or turn on tracking protection.
- How Google uses this data is described in the Google partner sites policy.
5. Advertising
We currently display no advertising. If we introduce it through Google AdSense or a similar provider, that vendor may use cookies to serve ads based on previous visits. This section will be updated in detail at that point, with a new effective date.
6. Sharing with third parties and processing on our behalf
We do not sell processed information to third parties. We use a hosting provider’s infrastructure as far as running the service requires, and even then the data is stored exactly in the form described in section 2.
Information is transmitted to the vendors below for the stated purpose, and that information is processed outside Korea, in the United States.
| Recipient | Purpose | Items |
|---|---|---|
| Google LLC | Visit analytics (section 4) | Pages visited, referring source, device details, approximate location, browser-distinguishing value |
If you wish to refuse this transfer, use the blocking methods described in the relevant section. Doing so does not affect your use of the service.
7. Your rights
We hold no member records, so there is no account process for access or correction. If you want a review you wrote taken down, you can ask through Contact. Because posts are anonymous we cannot verify that you are the author, so please include the content of the post and roughly when it was written; we will check and act on it.
The standards for deletion and hiding follow the Content Policy.
8. Safeguards
- Raw IP addresses are not stored; they are transformed into a form that cannot be reversed.
- The transformed value used for view counting changes with the date, which makes long-term tracking impossible.
- The author-distinguishing value for reviews stays constant regardless of date, so that blocks against flooding hold, and it is deleted along with the review.
- The admin screens require authentication and are not exposed to search engines.
- Records used to detect duplicate views are deleted automatically after 30 minutes.
9. Contact
Please send questions about how we handle personal data through the contact page.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the substance of the change and its effective date will be posted on this page.
11. Governing language
This English text is provided for convenience. The service is operated in the Republic of Korea and the Korean version is the authoritative text; if the two differ, the Korean version prevails.
