[Performance Introduction] Love does not have a single face Excitement and loss, waiting and resignation, obsession and letting go We have all passed through different kinds of love, and those memories seep into each other over time to become a single landscape. 'Barim' (Gradation) is a technique in Korean painting that softly dissolves the boundaries of colors to make them seep into each other. Just like memories of love where you can no longer tell where the excitement ended and the pain began. 〈Gradation of Memories〉 is a contemporary classical performance presenting 8 new works written by four composers on the theme of 'Love.' Starting from the same 'Love,' the forms of love depicted by the four composers are all different. And we haven't decided in advance what kind of love the music speaks of. In some songs, you might recall the excitement of first love, while someone else might recall memories of a breakup in the same song. The scenes and emotions that come to mind while listening to the music—that is your answer. As the lingering resonance of one song seeps into the next, eight different loves create one large 'Barim' (Gradation). Encounter contemporary classics where the heart responds first upon first hearing, rather than difficult and obscure modern music.
