"This is (Not) Conceptual Art" is an exhibition highlighting the conceptual tendencies in Korean contemporary art that have focused on concepts and language, process and context rather than material form or visual completion within the flow of contemporary art. In particular, this exhibition focuses on the linguistic turn in art, revisiting works that have constantly reflected on the essence and reality of art through sub-themes such as objects and language, language and action, measurement and mapping, and reality and institutional critique. In addition, by examining the conceptual tendencies of art around the 1990s—which unfolded amid high capitalism and rapid social and political changes—alongside the art flows of previous generations, this exhibition aims to provide an opportunity to discuss the contemporaneity of Korean contemporary art.
