[Performance Introduction] "The more I look into myself, how many things do we overlap with?" #Gomsisun #Layer #Interview #Talchum #Gut #SeasonalCustoms "The more I look into myself, how many things do we overlap with?" 'Layer' starts from an exploration of the various layers an individual possesses. We are seen as a single image, but within it, memories of the past, sensations of the present, and questions toward the future are piled up to form an unconscious inner self. The work looks at humans who cannot be defined by a single appearance by looking into these various layers. Gomsisun focuses on the act of 'interviewing'—listening to and observing stories—to understand humans. The process of looking into someone else's life is also the act of looking back at one's own, and when facing different stories, one discovers universal human traits that exist beyond individual experience. Based on this, the individual narratives of four dancers—Jinyoung, Seoyoung, Hyojun, and Jina—which combine memory, sensation, and questions, are overlapped on a single axis and expanded into a collective narrative. The collective narrative, which intersects and separates, appears as a non-linear structure where various perspectives and sensations overlap without being defined by a single meaning.
