[Performance Introduction] Every Monday in 2026, Lee Chul-jin's Seungmu (Buddhist Monk Dance) story <Only Seungmu> will be held at Seonggyun Small Theater in Daehakro. Seungmu is an artistic masterpiece representing Korean traditional dance, possessing high aesthetics that contain both the spirituality of Buddhist practice and inner human emotions. The delicate lines drawn by the long sleeves (jangsam), restrained breathing and rhythm, and the aesthetics of stillness in motion (jeongjungdong) create a world of deep contemplation and vitality exploding within silence. This stage features the Seungmu interpreted deeply by dancer Lee Chul-jin, who carries on the traditional lineage of Han Seong-jun, Han Young-sook, and Lee Ae-ju. Having walked the single path of Seungmu for decades, he fully unfolds the philosophy and density of time inherent in the dance on stage. Every movement and every breath reveals the accumulated traces of his practice and his mastery as an artist.
