[Performance Introduction] Recalling the memory of bodies being together. The countless moments when we read and felt each other's physical signals. The gratification, the unquestionable brief moments, and the moments so deeply touching that words were unnecessary, are repeatedly talked about and become memories. On the other hand, the moments of discordance fail to become memories and instead remain in the body as shocks, large and small. <Vanishing and Existing Things, Very Slowly, Bumping Into> starts by tracing the remnants of those shocks. The performers talk about the moments when their 'sense' of their bodies went awry, laying out their inner feelings and various assumptions from that time. The stories, which lead from memories of the body to the 'body of the here and now', reveal the gap between the 'visible body' and the 'unreadable mind'. This performance, which deals with the misalignment of bodies, soon moves toward a slight disbelief, uncertainty, and agnosticism regarding dance. It reconnects with bodies that defy expectations, bodies that refuse to be read, relationships that ended in misalignment, and time that probably cannot be turned back. While it solves nothing, we ultimately meet again those bodies that at least tightly grasp some part of the dancing body.
