[Event Introduction] Light and darkness, or joy and sorrow. Another Mozart series prepared by Jaap van Zweden showcases the emotions that human Mozart must have felt during his thirty-five years of life in stark contrast. In Part 1, brothers Lucas & Arthur Jussen will take the stage to perform Mozart's Concerto for Two Pianos K. 365. Following the performance by the Jussen brothers, who have been active as the most spotlighted piano duet for nearly a decade, the music that follows will be the composer's last work and posthumous legacy, the Requiem. From the grief rushing in right from the start, we will realize that this composer possessed a natural gift not only for describing joy, but also endlessly sinking emotions. Among those who have passed away before us, there are certain deaths that come to mind above others. Throughout the performance of the Requiem, we will be reminded of the premature death met by this possessor of endless talent. [PROGRAM] Mozart, Concerto for two pianos in E-flat major, K. 365 Mozart, Requiem in D minor, K. 626 *Süssmayr Edition * Program and performers are subject to change.
