About this event

[Performance Introduction] <Happy Jazz Concert> Berklee Super Band is a special stage featuring musicians and faculty from the world-renowned Berklee College of Music in the United States. Combining jazz traditions with a modern sensibility and international musical exchange, this performance presents the broad appeal of jazz through high-quality playing and a rich musical experience. First, the Daejeon Berklee Alumni Jazz Band will take the stage. Composed of Berklee College of Music alumni, this band presents a diverse repertoire centering on jazz while incorporating Latin and fusion music, delivering jazz's signature free energy and refined sensitivity. They are joined by R&B singer Theray, who received much love through TV Chosun's Mr. Trot 2, for a special stage crossing the boundaries of jazz and popular music. Following them, the International Jazz Ensemble led by prominent American saxophonist Chris Cheek, Berklee College of Music professor and trumpeter Philip Grenadier, and top-tier Korean jazz musicians will lead the stage. Deep communication and improvisations created by musicians from different cultural backgrounds and musical languages show the essential charm of jazz, making the meaning of international musical exchange even richer. This performance goes beyond a simple concert to connect the world and the local community through music, providing an artistic exchange that spans generations and cultures. Built upon the common educational foundation of Berklee College of Music, this stage where domestic and international musicians create together will be a meaningful time shed new light on the creativity, freedom, and value of communication through jazz.
