[Performance Introduction] On the day of a blind wine tasting, wine critic Galen ends his day at a small cocktail bar. However, Dupont, a winery owner claiming to be Galen's fan, suddenly appears and demands to know what rank Galen gave to his wine. Soon after, Adams, a journalist who attended the tasting, also enters the cocktail bar to handle an urgent article deadline and joins them, making the drinking session drag on. As they get drunker, authority turns into boasting and sophistication turns into pretentiousness... Production Intent The play <Branded> uses the world of wine criticism as its stage to ask what 'accurate judgment' is. If we remove preconceptions, can we know the essence? Which is closer to the truth: the wild confession of a drunk person, or the logical thinking of a sober person? We wanted to look into that question through the subject of wine.
