About this event

The 2026 Chuncheon Liquor Festa is a representative traditional liquor and local gourmet festival designed to promote the unique charm of Chuncheon as a city of liquor and to revitalize the stagnant local liquor culture. In particular, this year's event was held as a mini-liquor festa as a preliminary event from June 19 to 20 at Hwadong 2571, a complex cultural space in Geunhwa-dong, drawing great response. Major regional breweries representing Chuncheon participated in this event, showcasing various Korean liquors such as takju (cloudy rice wine), distilled spirits, yakju (clear rice wine), fruit wine, and craft beer. Sales booths were operated where visitors could taste them directly and purchase bottled liquor at reasonable prices. In addition, Chuncheon's local gourmet brands and food trucks were closely linked to provide rich and attractive gourmet snacks that harmonize perfectly with traditional liquor, satisfying all five senses. Beyond a simple drinking party, various programs such as the Juhyang Stage featuring cultural busking, as well as unique experience programs and subsidiary events in which visitors could directly participate and enjoy, were unfolded. Chuncheon City is evaluated to have provided an important stepping stone for substantially increasing the brand competitiveness of local breweries and impressing tourists visiting Chuncheon with differentiated stay-type gourmet tourism content and local lifestyles through this festival. 1.
