The 'DDP Architectural Tour' takes place centered around the spaces to Dream, Design, and Play at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP). Led by a professional commentator, this program explores the history and significance of the Dongdaemun area surrounding Zaha Hadid's architectural design. Operating regularly Tuesday through Sunday, it is closed on Mondays, New Year's Day, Lunar New Year's Day, and Chuseok. Daily tours run at 10:30 (Korean), 13:30 (English), and 15:30 (Korean). The tour starts at the Tour Desk on 1F of the DDP Museum and takes approximately 60 minutes. Open to participants aged 13 (middle school students) and older; children under 13 must be accompanied by a guardian. Registration is available online or on-site. Online reservations can be made on the DDP website (https://ddp.or.kr/?menuno=797), while on-site registration opens 10 minutes prior to start time for remaining seats. ▼ DDP Architectural Tour Route (Based on 60-min Regular Course) 1. Tour Desk: Introduction to DDP site history and architect Zaha Hadid. 2. Oullim Square: Historical background including historic site display area, floating structural design, and space frame structure. 3. Palgeori: Connection to Dongdaemun and surrounding areas, and spatial utility. 4. Igansumun Sluice Gate: Restoration of the Joseon-era Cheonggyecheon sluice gate. 5. Hanyangdoseong City Wall / Lighting Towers: Wall history/function, and Dongdaemun Stadium historic lighting towers and memorial hall. 6. Exterior Panels: Aluminum exterior panels of DDP and production process. 7. Grass Hill: Succulent plants and eco-friendly features. 8. Design Lab: Children's design playground and interior structure. 9. Sculptural Staircase: Design and engineering of the spiral sculptural staircase. 10. Design Dulle-gil: Structure and use of the inner trail circuit. 11. Miraero Bridge: Significance as a bridge connecting past and present. 12. Tour Desk: Tour conclusion and final guidance.
