The Baekmaek Festival, which has established itself as Gangbuk-gu's representative festival since 2023, is a place of harmony where people of all ages mingle. It takes the beautiful waterside resources of Uicheon Stream as its core space, in connection with the Seoul Metropolitan Government's 'Waterside Emotional City' landmark plan, including the completion of the waterside terrace observatory, and integrates with local commercial districts and young entrepreneurs. Instead of stages centered on famous singers, it presents diverse busking and performances where local artists and residents breathe together. It also helps local small businesses find sales channels by expanding food from traditional markets and craft beer sales spaces. It is a meaningful festival that establishes the foundation for Uicheon to leap forward as a waterside emotional cultural space where a permanent night market and culture flow. 1.
