About this event

Held at the start of autumn, the Cheongyang Chili Pepper and Goji Berry Festival is a hands-on event for all age groups. Celebrating Cheongyang's representative local agricultural products—chili peppers and goji berries—it features sensory experience programs, a cooking show by Chef Yeo Kyeong-rae, a nationwide high school culinary survival contest, a large-scale fresh kimchi-making event, a goji berry rice cake mosaic, and a spicy food eating contest ("King of Spicy Pride"). Visitors can also enjoy various food zones, such as the Specialized Food Experience Village Zone, Spicy Ale & Spicy Pride Provincial College Zone, and Food Court Zone. In particular, family and child-oriented programming has been expanded with a expanded Kids Zone featuring Catch! Teenieping shows and photo zones, a woodcraft experience zone, and Cheongyang characters (Cheongyangi, Cheongchorong, Cheonghongi). Rich with visual entertainment and performances by invited singers including Song Ga-in, Park Ji-hyun, Park Hyun-bin, and Solji, along with local talent showcases and resident community performances, it stands as a signature regional festival of Chungcheongnam-do. 1.
