About this event

The 2026 Dongdaemun-gu Book Festival is a cultural promotion event held in September, the month of reading, to increase residents' interest in reading and contribute to local reading culture. This year's theme, 'Chaek-nyeok-jang (Book-Strength-Market): Open the Book, Move the Body!', goes beyond static reading activities to offer various participatory programs combining books with physical activity for the whole family. At the Dongdaemun-gu Office Future Square, programs include 'Reading Fitness,' 'Reading with the Body' using folk tales as games, and an outdoor library. In the multipurpose hall, various booths such as 'Book Adventure Team,' 'Challenge! Library Mini Sports Day,' 'Reading Health Check-up,' and 'Dapsimni Motors' are operated by the Dongdaemun-gu Library Network. Additionally, musicals to encourage children's reading, bubble shows, and busking performances will provide plenty to see and enjoy. 1. Representative Programs: Chaek-nyeok-jang (Reading Fitness, Reading with the Body) 2. Experience Programs: Dongdaemun-gu Library Network experience booths, Make your own book cover, Emo-jeomo: Make an emoticon story, etc. 3.
