About this event

This exhibition traces the evolution of graphic design in Korea since the introduction of horizontal Hangul writing in the printing and publishing industry during the 1970s. It chronologically reconstructs the career of a designer who has studied the relationship between text and image amid the transition from analog to digital. The exhibition features the boom of phototypesetting and offset printing in the 1970s and 80s, the transition to graphic software and the web environment in the 1980s and 90s, and today's experimental attempts bridging the material and immaterial. By examining the dynamic relationship between technological advancement and visual culture within the flow of graphic design practice, this exhibition aims to expand the horizons of Korean art.
