About this event

연간 약 100만 명이 방문하는 장항 송림자연휴양림은 약 28만㎡ 규모의 소나무숲에 600만 본의 맥문동을 식재하여 전국 최대 규모의 맥문동 군락을 이루고 있다. 장항 송림자연휴양림은 서해안과 인접한 해송림과 맥문동 군락이 함께 조성된 공간으로 산림휴양과 자연경관을 함께 즐길 수 있는 관광지이다. 장항 맥문동 꽃 축제는 이러한 자연자원을 활용하여 개최되는 축제로 맥문동 군락을 중심으로 문화공연, 체험 프로그램, 전시, 지역 농·특산물 판매, 먹거리 운영 등 다양한 프로그램을 진행한다. 또한 장항 송림의 자연경관과 관광자원을 활용한 문화·관광 콘텐츠를 운영하여 방문객에게 계절의 특색을 반영한 볼거리와 체험 기회를 제공하고 있으며, 자연과 문화가 조화를 이루는 지역 대표 축제로 운영되고 있다.
