About this event

[Performance Introduction] <Paganini & Scheherazade> Roman Kim & Andi Musik Composed of a stage that multi-dimensionally reveals the intrinsic power of music—namely, the process of touching human emotions and purifying the inner self—through works of different eras and styles, the performance by Roman Kim & Andi Musik focuses on the healing role and emotional resonance of music amidst rapid environmental changes and conflicts around the world. Through the experience of performer and audience breathing together, it aims to expand the meaning of connection and recovery that music holds. The first stage starts with Composer Sung Hyuk Ahn's orchestral piece, "The Story of Neukgu in Bomoon Mountain." This work is a suite that musically unpacks the movement of a being in nature and the accompanying changes in human emotions, based on a real event that took place in Daejeon. It delicately depicts the intersecting relationship between nature and humans in a flow that reaches from curiosity and tension to tracking and anxiety, and finally relief. The eclectic musical language, where tonality and atonality coexist, expanding this narrative more three-dimensionally, effectively constructs the flow of tension and release. Next, Russian violinist Roman Kim, dubbed the Paganini of the 21st century, takes the stage as a soloist, presenting Niccolò Paganini's Violin Concerto No.1 in D Major, Op.6 with overwhelming technique and deep interpretation. Through this performance, he will intensely express the tension and liberation of human emotions based on extreme virtuosity and explosive energy. Finally, Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade, Op.35 will be performed, newly reconstructed through Andi Musik's ingenious orchestral arrangement. This interpretation, which transposes a large-scale orchestral work into a more condensed instrumentation, expands the narrative and color of the original piece with a new acoustic language, allowing us to re-perceive familiar music with unfamiliar senses. Through this, the tension, balance, and emotional transition of the music are revealed more clearly. In this way, works of different eras and aesthetics connect within one flow, revealing that music is a medium of deep resonance that links humans and the world through the vehicle of emotion and experience. The audience will experience various layers of emotion through each work, feeling the tension, liberation, and inner balance created by music together.
