About this event

칠곡낙동강평화축제는 한국전쟁 당시 최후의 방어선이었던 낙동강 전투의 역사적 의미를 기리고, 호국 정신을 되새기기 위한 축제다. 1950년 평범한 사람들이 목숨을 걸고 지켜낸 대한민국의 가치를 기억하고, 나라를 지킨 이들에게 감사를 전하기 위해 다양한 프로그램을 운영한다. 2026년 열세번째로 개최하는 축제에서는 평화를 주제로 즐길 수 있는 공연, 참여 체험, 먹거리 프로그램을 마련하는 한편 '소년, 소년병이 되다'이라는 슬로건 아래 호국의 상징으로 조명된 학도병 서사 이면에서 상대적으로 주목받지 못했던 어린 소년병들의 존재를 알리고 그들의 넋을 기리기 위한 프로그램을 함께 기획하여 축제의 역사적, 평화적 메세지를 더욱 강화하였다.
