[Event Introduction] Breath in Five Colors, One Single Picture - Ensemble Veits Paints 〈Pictures at an Exhibition〉 How far can the breath of woodwinds expand into new musical territories? Celebrating their 13th debut anniversary, Ensemble Veits's seventh journey begins with a deep exploration of that question. Having quietly built their own repertoire with a firm sense of mission to broaden the horizon of domestic woodwind chamber music, those they encounter this time are Mozart, Dvořák, and Mussorgsky. From the genius who reached the peak of Classicism to the masters of the Nationalist school who crafted national identity through music, three masters of different eras are connected into a single musical narrative through the breath of Ensemble Veits. Starting with the overture to Mozart's opera <The Magic Flute>, passing through Dvořák's lyricism-filled String Quartet No. 12 'American', this performance reaches Mussorgsky's masterpiece 'Pictures at an Exhibition'. Masterpieces written for string quartet and orchestra are newly arranged for five woodwind instruments, presenting delicate and rich tones that only a woodwind ensemble can achieve. The performance's subtitle, 'Promenade', goes beyond the meaning of strolling through an exhibition hall, serving as the central axis of a musical narrative connecting three composers of different eras and styles. A journey following the harmonious ensemble created by five performers and the delicate musical flow within. Let us stroll together through Ensemble Veits's stage, which will maximize the charm of five instruments and showcase the essence of woodwind chamber music.
