About this event

[Performance Introduction] The Lecture Concert series is a humanities and arts program that has been combining lectures and performances since 2020, themed around European art history, cities, museums, and artists of different eras. In 2026, under the theme of 'Meeting of Art and Opera,' the program will explore the historical backgrounds and artistic meanings within the works to provide audiences with a deep understanding of art. This is a commentary-style concert designed so that classical music and art can be appreciated as a single flow. Focusing on the music of Verdi, Fauré, and Chopin, the program will examine the artistic worlds of Cézanne, van Gogh, and Ingres, interestingly unfolding how different art genres share eras and emotions. Appearing on stage will be concert guide Kim Seong-min, soprano Kim Yu-jin, tenor Seong Min-gi, baritone An Se-beom, and pianist Lee Hyeon-uk. With kind explanations about the works and music added to vocal and piano performances, the concert is structured so that even audiences new to classical music and art can enjoy it without difficulty. In particular, by connecting and introducing the historical backgrounds contained in the lives and works of painters with the emotions and stories of composers' representative works, it is expected to provide audiences with a deeper experience of art appreciation. Moving away from appreciating art and music separately, this performance aims to increase audience satisfaction by discovering the points where the two arts meet and providing an opportunity to enjoy art in a more familiar and rich way through combined commentary and performance.
