The Goesan Red Pepper Festival is a representative agricultural product festival held annually between late August and early September in Goesan-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. Centered around the region's premium Goesan Clean Red Peppers, it is a participatory festival combining agriculture, tourism, and culture. The main purpose of the festival is to publicize the excellence of Goesan red peppers grown organically in a clean natural environment, and to boost local farm income and the regional economy through direct sales markets and produce sales. Featuring specialized experience programs like 'Find the Golden Red Pepper' and 'Stress-Relieving Red Pepper Nanta', along with red pepper bibimbap tastings, spicy food contests, traditional games, and performances, the festival attracts numerous visitors every year with activities for all ages. It also adds educational and professional value by introducing various domestic and international pepper varieties and information through the World Pepper Exhibition and Red Pepper Evaluation Contest. Selected in the past as a Promising Cultural Tourism Festival by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and as a representative festival of Chungcheongbuk-do, it is a hallmark local festival that simultaneously enhances Goesan's natural, agricultural, and cultural brand. 1.
