Gwangmyeong Madanggeuk Festival is a performing arts festival where you can enjoy the satire, humor, excitement, and spirit of traditional Madanggeuk (Korean traditional outdoor theater) with today's sensibility. Since its debut in 2024, it has grown with the interest and love of Gwangmyeong citizens and celebrates its 3rd anniversary this year. High-quality works and skilled performance groups participate to showcase various performances including Madanggeuk, fusion traditional music, circus, and street performances, and citizen participation programs for all ages are also prepared. In particular, the festival's feature is that you can closely encounter the unique charm of Madanggeuk, where the boundary between the stage and the audience is broken, and performers and viewers breathe together. It is establishing itself as a representative performing arts festival in Gwangmyeong, where citizens and artists laugh, enjoy, and communicate together by turning the entire Gwangmyeong Citizens' Stadium area into an open theater. 1.
