The 9th Jeonju Book Festival is Jeonju's representative book festival held under the slogan and theme 'Book-Reading City, Writing Jeonju' and 'Run, Books'. The event will take place for 3 days from Friday, September 11 to Sunday, September 13, 2026, around the Jeonju Hanbyeok Cultural Center and Wanpanbon Cultural Center. To create a festival enjoyed by all generations, tailored content for each age group has been enhanced, and an eco-friendly practice festival model has been established to prepare for climate change. Main programs include the opening ceremony, guest lectures, and fusion Korean traditional music performances at the Hanbyeok Cultural Center Auditorium. The exhibition hall will host participatory competitions such as the 'Family Reading Golden Bell' for family visitors. Outdoor stages will feature children's shows, Taekwondo performances, and Madang Changgeuk (traditional outdoor musical plays). Seminars, book discussions, and workshops with local authors at the Hyanggyo Cultural Center Seminar Room will offer enriching cultural experiences. Furthermore, along Jeonjucheondong-ro, book markets with local bookstores and publishers alongside various activity booths will be set up, while citizen-participatory exhibitions and Jeonju Book Festival special exhibitions held in the outdoor courtyard will present abundant sights and fun for citizens. 1.
