[Performance Introduction] What remained where the trial passed was, in the end, love. Pianist Hwang Su-yeon Recital “War, despair, trials... sad emotions are ultimately a process to see the light of positivity. I want to walk that journey together through the works of Beethoven and Schumann.” Pianist Hwang Su-yeon shared these thoughts while preparing for the recital to be held on Wednesday, September 9th at 7:30 PM at the Seoul Arts Center Inchun Art Hall. Pianist Hwang Su-yeon, who presents an impressive interpretation at every recital, has composed this stage with Beethoven’s ‘Fantasia’ and ‘Tempest’ Sonata, and Schumann’s ‘Davidsbündlertänze’. She aims to illuminate the deep inner self through the music left by the two composers at the most turbulent moments of their lives. From the will and imagination blooming in chaos caused by war, the dramatic language that broke through the despair of hearing loss, to the most private confessions shaped by secret love. This program will be a place to explore how different crises and emotions changed the composers and in what ways they captured and resolved them in their music.
