About this event
Held around Jeongjo Hyogongwon Park, the Jeongjo Filial Piety Cultural Festival is a representative historical and cultural festival of Hwaseong Special City combining historical value with family-friendly elements. Visitors can enjoy various performances and traditional hands-on programs. In particular, the Hyeonryungwon Relocation—reenacting the grand saga of King Jeongjo moving his father Crown Prince Sado's tomb to Hwaseong's Yungneung, famous as the finest auspicious site in Joseon—is a signature program symbolically demonstrating King Jeongjo's profound filial piety. Furthermore, on October 4, King Jeongjo's Royal Tomb Procession reenacting the 1795 procession departs from Dongtan Central Park to showcase a grand procession combining tradition and modernity. Taking place in "Hwaseong Special City," an auspicious land and city of filial piety, this festival offers a special time blending history, culture, and family togetherness. 1. Main Programs: Reenactment of Hyeonryungwon Relocation procession, large-scale drone show themed on King Jeongjo and filial piety 2.
