About this event

Marking its 5th anniversary this year, the creative site-specific musical "Hwajeokyeon, a Thousand-Year Promise" is Pocheon's representative regional cultural and artistic performance set against the actual scenery of Hwajeokyeon, a designated scenic spot in Korea. Amidst the majestic natural landscape of Hwajeokyeon, this work features spectacular lighting and production, along with overwhelming vocal performances by musical actress Hong Ji-min and citizen actors from Pocheon, delivering deep emotion. Performed at Hwajeokyeon, a historical site where rainmaking rituals (Giu-je) were held during the Joseon Dynasty and which boasts heavenly scenery, this performance reinterprets the region's history and cultural value through modern art. A total of two performances will be held, all free of charge, and it is an event where visitors can watch freely.
