Seocho-gu·National Gugak Center

Free · Seocho-gu Exhibition Hall 3, Calligraphy Art Museum, Seoul Arts Center
Produced by the Seoul Arts Center, the Contemporary Artist Project 《Lee Wan - I Write》 exhibition reinterprets traditional Korean calligraphy through the language of contemporary art. Using brush and ink as a foundation, artist Lee Wan explores new possibilities for calligraphy by combining characters, images, paintings, and seal carving. Going beyond admiring beautiful handwriting, the exhibition addresses the question 'Why do we write?' to show that writing itself can be an art form for self-expression. It is an exhibition where you can experience new calligraphic possibilities where tradition meets modernity. - Main Program: Exhibition / Regular docent tours / Artist talk / Artist workshop
