[About the Performance] Winner of the 2026 world-prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition, Ettore Pagano performs in Korea! A unique stage featuring the legendary cello 'Goffriller Casals'! On Saturday, September 12 at 4:00 PM, cellist Ettore Pagano's unaccompanied recital will be held at Geoam Art Hall. Meeting Korean audiences with works by Bach, Ligeti, and more, Ettore Pagano gained worldwide attention by winning the cello division of the 2026 Queen Elisabeth Competition. Furthermore, this performance features the famous instrument by Matteo Goffriller, dubbed the 'Goffriller Casals' (made in 1773), specially awarded as a prize to the winner. The 'Goffriller Casals' was crafted by Matteo Goffriller, a master Venetian instrument maker of the 17th and 18th centuries, and enjoys global acclaim for its heavy bass and rich timbre resembling the human voice. His instruments are evaluated as having high historical value. This recital offers a rare opportunity for Korean audiences to directly experience the real resonance of this legendary instrument. The meeting of an instrument holding centuries of history with a young performer drawing the attention of the global classical music world promises to deliver special emotional impact.
