The Saenggeo Jincheon Cultural Festival is a historic local cultural festival representing Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, which has been held since 1979. The festival takes place every autumn along the Baekgokcheon Stream banks in Jincheon-eup. It aims to inherit and develop the local culture of Jincheon-gun, provide opportunities to enjoy culture and arts, improve the quality of life for residents and visitors, and promote harmony among residents and vitalize the local economy based on the region's history and culture. During the festival, various programs such as folk arts competitions, local food competitions, and ssireum (Korean wrestling) competitions take place, along with performances, exhibitions, hands-on activities, and food markets for all generations to enjoy. Jincheon-gun has long been known for its developed farming techniques and abundant agricultural products thanks to its wide fields and irrigation facilities, so the festival also serves as a marketplace for selling local agricultural and specialty products.
