About this event

The 2026 Yeongdeok National Heritage Night Festival, subtitled 'Yeonghae 1926: Strolling That Night,' is a night-time historical and cultural festival taking place from August 21 to 23, 2026, around the Yeonghae Market Street Modern History and Culture Space in Yeonghae-myeon, Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. Yeonghae Market Street is a township-level National Registered Cultural Heritage, one of only six such designated sites in Korea. The Night Festival revives the scenery of Yeonghae from 100 years ago across its alleyways, offering an immersive cultural event where visitors walk through history. Set against the backdrop of the year 1926, the night streets come alive with diverse content including real-landscape musicals, modern costume parades, rickshaw rides, silent films, and performances of traditional intangible heritage. A total of 40 programs across 8 themes (Night Sights, Night Strolls, Night History, Night Art, Night Tales, Night Snacks, Night Stays, and Night Markets) run daily from 7 PM to 11 PM, with free admission for all. 1. Main Performances: Real-landscape theme musical 'Yeonghae 1926', circus, cabaret shows, modern costume parade, National Heritage media facade, and intangible heritage performances (such as Yeongdeok Wolwol-icheongcheong and Onggijang pottery master demonstrations) 2. Experiences & Tours: Night festival stamp tour map, rickshaw ride experience, modern costume dress-up, silent cinema, lantern-making, Taegeukgi keychain-making, rubbing art workshops, and more 3. Food & Markets: Yeonghae Club (recreating a 100-year-old tavern featuring local Yeongdeok specialties), food trucks, events linked with Yeonghae Manse Market, and Yeongdeok peach sales 4. Accommodation Links: Hanok stays at Gwoesi Folk Village, Wongu Traditional Village, and Inryang Traditional Theme Village (A Night at a National Heritage Site)
