[About the Performance] Ballet Meets Video 「Ahn Jung-geun, Dance in Heaven」 is a video performance conducted through the Seoul Arts Center SAC ON SCREEN public contest. Taking Patriot Ahn Jung-geun's last wishes as a core motif, it depicts his life and philosophy longing for national independence and Peace in the Orient through ballet. It expresses with dramatic dance and music not only his image as a historical hero, but also the short yet fierce life of a human who loved his family and shouldered the pain of the times. The piece combines ballet, a representative Western stage art, with Korea's history and sentiment to shed new light on Patriot Ahn Jung-geun's noble spirit. Through grand yet delicate ensemble dancing and choreography capturing the emotions of characters, it intends to deeply convey firm determination toward independence, sacrifice, and longings for peace. In this video, Yoon Jeon-il stars as Ahn Jung-geun, along with Park Ye-eun as Kim A-rye, Kim Soon-jung as Jo Ma-ria, Yoon Byul as Ishida, and Kwak Hwa-kyung as Sakura. The expressive power of the dancers combined with the detailed direction unique to video is expected to deliver immersive emotion distinct from an actual theater performance. Prepared in August to reflect on the meaning of Liberation Day, this meaningful work allows audiences to meet Patriot Ahn Jung-geun's life and independence spirit through ballet, providing an opportunity to comfortably enjoy the artistry of creative ballet and vivid movements of dancers through high-definition video.
