Under the slogan 'Wonju Governor's History: Observing the History of Wonju', the 2026 Wonju National Heritage Night Walk showcases a variety of programs themed around beautiful nightscapes and the '8 Nights'. The event takes place over three days from September 4 (Fri) to September 6 (Sun), 2026, centering around national heritage sites in the Gangwon Gamyeong area, including Gangwon Gamyeong, Wondong Cathedral, and the Former Chosen Industrial Bank. This year features three main historical themes centered on Wonju's history and key figures—Righteous Army Leader Min Keung-ho, Governor Songgang Jeong Cheol, and Queen Inyeol—introducing the historical significance and stories of each person through various programs. It aims to offer rich sights and interactive experiences for citizens and visitors to encounter Wonju's history and culture up close. 1.
