About this event

[Performance Introduction] Gyeongseong in 1937. An age of fairy tales where our language is stolen, even capturing the streets in a single photograph is forbidden, and ultimately even one's own name cannot be possessed. What is placed before us is not merely the Japanese imperial military's guns and swords. The sweet temptation of a 'modern boy's' life shakes us. Warm coffee instead of cold guns, a loved person instead of bombs. The more plausible that touch becomes, the heavier the task of keeping one's convictions to the end gets. <Modern Boy> is an immersive theater inviting the audience to that final night. Upon entering, masked audiences become 'comrades', searching a workshop, exchanging letters, and opening a tightly locked chest. The target to whom characters who can no longer trust each other entrust their faith at the very end is precisely the audience. And the audience, as those who watched over this night to the end, come to remember them.
