About this event

[Performance Introduction] Cellist Hong Jin-ho is a performer and creator who has expanded the boundaries of genres and art based on classical music. He studied at Seoul National University College of Music and the Würzburg State Conservatory of Music in Germany, and has been active on the international stage, traveling between Europe and South Korea. After winning the JTBC show <Super Band> in 2019, he has been expanding his active scope beyond classical music to a repertoire spanning jazz, band music, and self-composed pieces, as well as humanities content like <Jinho's Bookstore>, building his own musical world. In particular, his self-composed albums <Dear Forest> and <City Melody> have delivered deep resonance by delicately expressing landscapes of memories, emotions, movement, and staying. In this special <WAY BACK HOME: The Road Back to Me> program, his performance quietly resonates with the trajectory of life and art that artist Lee Kyung-mi has accumulated over a long time, and the journey of returning to oneself once again. The cello melody flowing between painting, installation, and media work further deepens the layers of memory and sensation captured by the exhibition, presenting audiences with another 'landscape of return'.
