The Chilgok Nakdong River Peace Festival commemorates the historical significance of the Battle of Nakdong River, which was the final line of defense during the Korean War, and honors the spirit of defending the nation. Diverse programs are operated to remember the value of the Republic of Korea protected by ordinary people risking their lives in 1950, and to express gratitude to those who protected the country. In its 13th edition in 2026, the festival prepares performances, interactive experiences, and food programs to enjoy under the theme of peace. Under the slogan 'A Boy, Becomes a Student Soldier', programs are designed to shed light on the existence and honor the souls of young boy soldiers who received relatively less attention behind the student-soldier narrative highlighted as a symbol of national defense, further strengthening the historical and peaceful message of the festival. 1.
