Andamiro Gwiddae Museum (Andamiro Gwiddae Bangmulgwan) introduces the shining teapots and teacups captured in the canvases of masterpieces, and the warm breath of life dwelling within them. In the late 15th century, the Age of Discovery sea routes, opened in search of spices, became conduits that carried not only mysterious tea leaves from the East but also the sophisticated aesthetics of the vessels that held them to Europe. Contemporary painters began to capture the vibrant temperature flowing in warm teacups and moments of happy teatime on canvas with dazzling colors. This exhibition offers a special experience beyond the landscape of the canvas, allowing visitors to face the actual teapots and teacups that the protagonists in the paintings held in their hands. From the mysterious warmth conveyed by William McGregor Paxton's 'Tea Leaves' to the ornate silver teapot appearing in Mary Cassatt's 'The Tea,' we hope you experience the leisure of a cup of tea felt by the figures in these masterpieces with a vivid sense of presence. - Main Program: Special Exhibition - Side Events and Programs: Connected experience programs (Coloring masterpieces, coloring Andamiro Gwiddae Museum character teapots)
