[About the Performance] Project Dried Pollack Life tells the story of beings who lead a "dried pollack life," catching a glimpse of human life from the perspective of a dried pollack hanging in a ceiling corner without a drop of water, warding off bad luck across years. When did we become who we are today? Is there a moment when we are "complete"? If we can never be complete in our lifetime, what kind of selves can we accept ourselves to be? This story, which begins with a dried pollack used to ward off evil, expands into a tale about the form of life known as "dried pollack life" through a single actor's spoken lines and various scenes. Formed as a one-person play, this work is also part of a theatrical scene development project. It experiments with how text and scenes are realized on stage, how they are embodied through an actor's voice and body, and how effective or ineffective that process turns out to be.
