The Anyang Dance Festival unfolds over three days from September 18 to 20 at Pyeongchon Central Park and Samdeok Park in Anyang. Launched in 2000 as the Anyang Citizens Festival, it has grown over 23 years alongside residents to welcome around 300,000 visitors annually, establishing itself beyond Anyang's signature festival into a premier tourism festival of Gyeonggi-do. As a citizen-led festival created, attended, and enjoyed by residents, it focuses on living arts content, contributing to building a community for local artists and nurturing resident cultural communities. Under the slogan "Walk, Run, and Dance!", it conveys the message that walking and running are free movements of the body—and thus dance in a broader sense. It uncovers the latent passion for dance throughout Anyang, encouraging citizen artists to unleash their energy and dynamic talent. Furthermore, it aims to establish itself as Korea's unique community-based K-dance cultural arts festival where Anyang citizens and visitors come together to dance, creating unity through dance and culture. 1.
