About this event

The 6th Gamak-san Flower & Star Journey is a representative autumn festival taking place from September 18 to October 11, 2026 around Byeolbaram Hill at the summit of Gamak-san in Sinwon-myeon, Geochang-gun. Under this year's theme, 'A Purple Pause for Myself,' the event combines autumn ambience and the scenic natural landscape of Gamak-san with diverse performances, hands-on programs, and local food. The festival officially opens on September 18 with pre-ceremony performances, an opening event, and a tour of the Siberian chrysanthemum field. Throughout the festival, visitors are welcomed with busking performances, Sunset Hill Concerts, celebratory performances by the Geochang Music Association, and magic shows for children. Hands-on activities abound as well: photo zones placed across the venue, stamp tours, and SNS verification events offer souvenir rewards. At Byeolbaram Hill, a Slow Postbox allows visitors to write letters that will be delivered prior to next year's event. Food is another highlight of the festival. The Flower & Star Market features local agricultural products and processed goods provided by local farms and businesses. Food stalls run by the Namsang-myeon and Sinwon-myeon Women's Associations serve hearty dishes such as bibimbap, gukbap, savory pancakes, and tofu with kimchi at affordable prices, while a food truck zone offers convenient refreshments like coffee, sikhye, and hot dogs. Visitors not traveling by private car can use the shuttle bus service; those traveling by car should refer to the website for advance reservations before visiting. 1.
