About this event

The Ganggyeong Night Heritage Tour aims to break away from the traditional framework focused solely on preservation, actively utilizing historical and cultural resources to spread public value. By establishing a network that connects dispersed modern historical resources within the Ganggyeong area, it encourages visitors to experience the entire town as one giant historical and cultural space. This event unfolds with a total of 30 detailed programs under eight themes: Night View (Yagyeong), Night Road (Yaro), Night History (Yasa), Night Painting (Yahwa), Night Performance (Yaseol), Night Food (Yaksik), Night Market (Yasi), and Night Stay (Yasuk). First, Night View and Night Road use landscape lighting and media art to transform the night scenery of the Ganggyeong Modern History and Culture Street, greatly improving physical and psychological accessibility to historical and cultural resources. Visitors naturally become immersed in historical spaces while walking the night paths. Night History, Night Painting, and Night Performance reinterpret the historical narratives and values of Ganggyeong's modern heritage through modern performances, exhibitions, and experiences. By delivering the value of national heritage, which can sometimes feel difficult, through intuitive and interesting content, it secures historical popularity and spreads value widely. Finally, Night Food, Night Market, and Night Stay are operated based on collaboration with local commercial districts and residents. By linking Ganggyeong's specialties, food, and local shops, it increases visitor stay times and completes a virtuous cycle where the networking of dispersed historical resources leads to local economic activation. Consequently, the '8 Nights' and 30 programs are expected to breathe modern vitality into Ganggyeong's national heritage, which had remained in the past, and serve as a core driving force in providing visitors with a differentiated night cultural heritage experience. 1.
