About this event

[Performance Introduction] "It looks like a bug. Yes. We are bugs. Workers are bugs. They say that and become bugs." 〈Eternal Labor〉 is the latest work deeply probing the problems of ideology continuing from the modern era to the contemporary world, which OLTA has continuously explored since 《GHOST OF MODERN》(2013), a work that traced the world's negative heritage. Based on research ranging from the Japanese archipelago to the Korean peninsula, it overlaps the problems of labor, exploitation under the Japanese imperial rule, modern division, continuity, and economic development with the body of contemporary women. Focusing on latent social issues such as objectified women, pregnant bodies, sexism, and power structures, through the dual formats of exhibition and performance, OLTA approaches the origin of meaningless labor and consumerist life with its signature multi-layered gaze that transcends time and space, accompanied by humor.
