About this event

[About the Performance] <Housewarming: Room-Fair> is a housewarming-concept performance where four artists each create their own room in one space and invite guests (the audience). This performance is audience-participatory, borrowing the format of an exhibition and workshop. Audience members who enter the house carrying their own memories, senses, worries, and tastes can exist as much as they want and in the way they want. Everyone is welcome—those with blurry memories, those who find it hard to explain something, those who want to stay quietly, and those who want to talk a lot. Amid loose movements and accidental connections, small resonances and connections will form inside the house. In the room of 'Bang-at-gan (Kim Soo-wan)', a small group sits together sewing. Bang-at-gan and visitors talk about subjects that remain deeply and for a long time in their hearts, but whose sensation has grown faint. It doesn't matter if it's a subject never met before, or one poorly remembered. We piece together fragments of a subject we want to know about, even if we don't fully understand why. For Bang-at-gan, 'Aunt Soon-im' is such a subject. Her mother's best friend whom she met frequently until age 9. Aside from that memory, she is a person with no way of knowing more about, yet somehow feels a tremendous sense of connection. Bang-at-gan embarks on embroidering a scrap of cloth using Aunt Soon-im's letter. It's okay if it's your first time pulling someone out from memory or sewing. Bang-at-gan is a beginner too. You don't have to say everything; just bring out as much as possible, embroider, and look together as much as you can. And when visitors return home, we hope they feel the presence that was in their thoughts just a little bit more. In the room of 'Bang-jang (Namgoong Eun-soo)', a small group sits together reading a picture book. Reading aloud the picture book <The Child Who Couldn't Ride a Bike> together, we talk about the inner guilt, conflict, and paradox of the protagonist, and share our own inner stories too. We want to share stories with you in a safe space. When was the last time you read a picture book? What memorable picture books were there in your childhood? If there is a memorable picture book, why does that story still remain in a corner of our heart and move us? Whatever sentence it may be, if you feel that this time was a warm one, we could ask for nothing more joyful. In the room of 'Bang-jigi (Lee Ye-rin)', we share stories that cannot be predicted and need not be predicted. Whatever story the audience carries, Bang-jigi wants to share it together. If no story comes to mind immediately, we choose among 'worry counseling / Enneagram / Saju (four pillars) / generating writing prompts / free chat' to hold a chat session. During 'worry counseling,' Bang-jigi listens to audience concerns. During 'Enneagram,' Bang-jigi helps find the audience member's Enneagram. During 'Saju,' we explore audience worries and stories while chatting playfully with four-pillars analysis. During 'generating writing prompts,' we listen to concerns about creations the audience wants to make and give feedback. In the case of 'generating writing prompts,' if the audience member wishes, Bang-jigi will keep in touch even after the performance period to sincerely provide feedback on the work. When all the time is up, the audience writes down a newly learned fact about themselves in a few sentences on a note and leaves Bang-jigi's room. If you regret not finishing the chat during this housewarming, Bang-jigi and the audience promise an after-housewarming time after the performance period. Bang-jigi awaits the endless stories contained in the audience. 'Bang-gu (Jae-hee)' might or might not come out. In fact, 'Bang-gu' tries to come out at any time. But even 'Bang-gu' itself doesn't know what kind of 'Bang-gu' will come out. Will it be a terrible 'Bang-gu'? *The Legend of 'Bang-gu': 'Bang-gu' was originally an existence that welcomed humans in the corner of a room and wished for their dreams. One day, swallowed by a human due to a dream the human had, 'Bang-gu' could not come out of the stomach. Will 'Bang-gu' be able to come out at 'Room-Fair'?
