'Welcome to Singwan-dong' is a youth culture-centered street festival held around the university street of Singwan-dong, Gongju-si. As part of the Cultural City Creation Project promoted by Gongju-si and the Gongju Cultural Tourism Foundation, it aims to foster Singwan-dong as a youth cultural hub and promote local cultural ecosystems and commercial district revitalization. Held since 2022 as a street performance-centered festival, it has gradually expanded its content including busking contests, street performances, Beer Festa, flea markets, and hands-on programs. In 2025, it established the 'Welcome to Singwan-dong' brand through street signposts, sculpture installations, and navigation map indicators. In 2026, it aims to establish a sustainable festival model based on a cooperative management system involving residents, merchants, universities, and youth. The 2026 festival is scheduled to take place from October 9 to 11 around Singwan-dong University Street, featuring main performances, nationwide street performances, stages by local youth/young adult performing groups, local business linkage programs, and local currency coupon events. Additionally, linked with the Baekje Cultural Festival, it is planned to operate as a representative local street festival that encourages visitor stays and boosts cultural and economic vitality in Singwan-dong. 1.
